Located 30 minutes north of Valdez (and the ferry terminal) at Mile 19 on the Richardson Highway.
| The Thompson Pass Mountain Chalet offers the traveler exclusive, private
accommodations in a natural setting. We cater to small groups (1 - 4) that
desire solitude and close access to the most popular recreational and scenic
attractions of our area.
The Chalet consists of a living/kitchen area and 3/4 bathroom. The sleeping loft and a smaller reading loft complete the cabin. Hosts live in a nearby cabin. |
A narrow spiral staircase leads to the sleeping loft |

Visitor Comments
"What a lovely, welcoming spot! Our daughter said this beats a stay at the Hilton. The area is beautiful. And thanks for your tips on hikes. More time would have been nice--this deserves more than a stopover." Maureen, Syosset, N.Y. "As one dreams of far away places yet unvisited there is always the unknown. This spot has exceeded our wildest expectations and left a mark that will last a lifetime." Erika & Aaron, San Diego, CA "Overnight is not enough to experience such a kind setting.
Am already planning the next stop! Thanks for creating a place for
people who enjoy what life is all about" Eric & Kathy, Kodiak

| * We invite you to participate in the "Dollar-A-Day for Conservation" program. This is a program in which visitors to our state may choose to contribute to organizations working to protect Alaskan wildlands. We will pass along your contributions to the Alaska Center for the Environment, an Alaska based grassroots group that has a long and successful history of advocating for our coastal rainforests. After you have made a reservation we will send you an invoice with a blank line on which you may indicate the dollar amount you would like to contribute. This is a voluntary program. The Chalet also contributes $1 for each night. We encourage you to consider supporting this organization with us. |
