Bernard Creek Trail (Mile 78.9 Richardson Highway) - heads up above treeline into Kimball Pass, with views and the possibility for further climbs. The trail climbs around 1,600 with a length of over 15 miles.
Liberty Falls Trail NPS link(Mile 28.9 Edgerton Highway) - look for a gravel turnoff shortly before the Liberty Falls Campground. A short climb ends at a forested area near upper Liberty Creek. The trail offers large views of the Copper and Tonsina River drainages and the Wrangell Mountains. 2.5 miles

Trail head at the historic Kennecott Mine outside Mc Carthy. Lower part to
campsite (1.5 mile) is easy hike. 4.5 mile to the Stairway ice fall is a
moderate hike. Great view of the Wrangell Mountains, Root glacier and
Stairway Ice fall. Watch for bear and use bear proof food bin if camping;
check with Park Service.
