Seward Transportation and Getting There

Seward is connected to Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula by highway, Alaska Railroad service, cruise travel, charters, and local water taxis. Use these links to compare practical ways to reach Seward and get out on Resurrection Bay.

Travelers commonly combine Seward transportation with glacier cruises, wildlife tours, sea kayaking, hiking, and connections back to Anchorage or other Kenai Peninsula communities.

Transportation

The Alaska Railroad
Seward is the southernmost stop on the Alaska Railroad.  Hopping a train is great for casually making your way from Seward to Anchorage and the Interior.
Scenic Mountain Air
In addition to its flightseeing tours, Scenic Mountain Air is available for air charters to Homer, Kenai, Cordova, Valdez, and Anchorage.
Alaska Water Taxi
Not to be confused with the Alaska Ferry, which does not service Seward, Alaska Water Taxi will take you to drop-off points for stellar sea kayaking, hiking and camping.
Miller's Landing Water Taxi
Miller’s Landing is a water taxi service that can take you to drop-off points for sea kayaking, hiking and camping.
